HISTORY OF THE COMB As far back as we know about everyday life in Sweden, it is known that the comb was one of mans most important accessories. At that time they were mainly used to care for the hair but were also used as decoration. |

Combs have been found intact dating back to the Bronze Age 1800-500 BC. They were also given as burial gifts and these were made of bronze or bone. On the other hand the Iron Age combs were only made of bone. |

During the early Iron Age 500 BC - 400 AD combs were wider and half-moon shaped, | |
whilst during the late Iron Age 400 -
1050 AD they were narrower and longer.

During this time double combs also began to appear. Their main development was during the Middle Ages (fourteenth century).
Then a new trade was created for making combs - Comb-maker. They made combs of wood or bone which came from either deer or moose horn. It is these comb-makers traditions and skills that now use with the help of modern materials.
